Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: August 2026

Tacos 'N' Tequilas (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

It applies to this website, our venues, our booking and ordering channels, and our marketing communications.

1. Information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number and postcode.
  • Booking information — venue, date, time, party size, seating or accessibility requirements and any dietary notes or allergies you choose to tell us.
  • Order information — items ordered, pickup or delivery address and order history.
  • Employment applications — the details in your application, including your résumé, work history, availability and right-to-work status.
  • Marketing preferences — whether you have subscribed to our newsletter and whether you have opted out.
  • Technical information — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and referring page, collected automatically when you use this website.

We do not deliberately collect sensitive information. Where you provide health-related details (for example, a food allergy) we use them only to serve you safely.

Payments

We do not store your full card details. Payments taken online are processed by third-party providers (for example our booking, delivery or payment partners), who handle card data under their own security standards.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 15 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

2. How we collect it

  • Directly from you — in venue, by phone, by email, or through forms on this website.
  • Through our booking partner when you reserve a table.
  • Through delivery and ordering platforms when you place an order.
  • Automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse this site.

3. Why we use it

We use personal information to:

  • take, confirm and manage your booking or order;
  • respond to your enquiry, feedback or complaint;
  • assess and manage employment applications;
  • send you news, offers and event invitations where you have asked to receive them;
  • improve our menus, venues, website and service;
  • maintain the safety and security of our venues and staff; and
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including food safety and liquor licensing requirements.

4. Marketing and how to opt out

We only send marketing messages where you have subscribed or where you would reasonably expect to hear from us. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing info@tacosntequilas.com.au. We will action your request promptly. Opting out of marketing does not affect messages about a booking or order you have already made.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

  • the individual venue you are dealing with;
  • service providers who work on our behalf — booking platforms, delivery partners, payment processors, email and hosting providers, and IT support;
  • professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers; and
  • government agencies, regulators or law enforcement where we are required or permitted by law.

Some of our service providers may store data outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.

6. Cookies

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

7. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls, secure hosting and staff training. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted over the internet.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. When it is no longer needed, we destroy or de-identify it.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within a reasonable period, and if we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.
